Grinding the apples to a pulp is a neccesary part of the process before the fruit can be pressed and the juice extracted. This can be done manually by hand and using something to "bash" the apples, a technique perfectly adequate for small quantities of fruit. When you have a significant quantity of fruit to get through, however, an apple grinder like this is much more appealing.
This Jaffrey Apple Grinder can be attached to the 8400 wine press or that of a similar size, or even a standalone frame. It makes light work of turning hard fruit into pulp, saving you time, effort and boredom!
With the Jaffrey Apple Grinder there's no need to slice and push apples down thanks to it's self-feeding design. With cast iron side plates and front plate, this grinder is durable and works like a charm.
This grinder comes premounted to a wooden back board which makes up the back of the grinder housing, and has a 12lb. flywheel.
A motor can also easily be added.

I added this grinder to a homemade cider press and it works a treat! It operates smoothly and reduces a bushel of apples to pulp in no time. I'd been cutting the apples by hand and crushing them with a big wooden pole up until now... it did the job but certainly required a lot more effort than this. I wish I'd bought one of these last year!
